World Tourism Forum

A leading interactive platform for the tourism industry, World Tourism Forum Lucerne is a Swiss-based non-profit organisation launched in 2009. It unites leaders and key businesses in tackling problems that concern the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors, aiming to overcome new challenges and ensure a more sustainable future.

Transforming obstacles into opportunities, the Forum connects people across various backgrounds and generations with the objective to support and create a diverse and unique community working towards a shared goal.

Challenge

The client required us to organise an event dedicated to start-ups in the tourism industry. This week-long project took place entirely virtually, with sessions being held on Zoom. We had the immense pleasure of hosting Jean-Claude Biver among many other distinguished guests.

These international events are held by the forum yearly, allowing start-ups to put their name on the industry map by showcasing their business ideas. The client selected our Custom Design, White Label, Reporting, Sponsor, Support and RM features. An additional request was made that we were able to fulfil thanks to our dedicated team of developers.

Solution

Our Success Manager Joshua Sievi was always available throughout the event to troubleshoot any issues that could arise. No additional features had to be created for the Forum, our offer covered all their needs, and a significant part of the set-up was created by the client themselves.

Sessions for all sponsors involved were required, with each having individual Zoom sessions on which they could anticipate visitors, replicating the experience of a real-life event.

Result

Spanning across numerous countries including Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, England, France and Italy, the event we organised welcomed 130 people over 7 days, all under World Tourism Forum Lucerne’s logo. The client shared very positive feedback with us, expressing genuine surprise how well everything was handled considering a tight deadline and a slightly stressful atmosphere.

The event was yet another example of Expertshare bringing professionalism, expertise and quality to a project that included many variables and presented a number of unexpected challenges.
